40 DAYS OF

PRAYER & FASTING

Prayer and fasting are acts of humble dependence on the Lord, where we intentionally set aside comfort to seek Him more fully. As a church, we pray and fast to align our hearts with God’s will, to ask for spiritual renewal within our congregation, and to intercede for our community. We also fast for the souls of the lost, asking God to open hearts to the gospel, draw people to repentance and faith in Christ, and use our church as a faithful witness to His saving grace.

FAVORITE DRINK

This week, we give up our favorite drink and replace it with intentional prayer. Each time we feel the desire for it, we pause and ask God to refresh our hearts with His presence instead.

SWEETS

By fasting from sweets, we’re choosing to deny simple comforts and refocus our cravings toward the Lord. Let this sacrifice remind us that true satisfaction is found in Christ alone.

ONE MEAL a DAY

Eating just one meal a day creates space for deeper prayer and reflection. When hunger comes, we turn our attention to the Lord, asking Him to strengthen us spiritually as we wait on Him.

FAST UNTIL 1PM

By fasting until 1 PM, we begin each day with prayer before food. This intentional delay helps us start our mornings focused on God, seeking His guidance and wisdom first.

FAST TWO MEALS A DAY

This week calls us to greater sacrifice by fasting two meals a day. In those moments of hunger, we press into prayer, trusting God to sustain us and draw us closer to His heart.

FAST SUN UP TO SUN DOWN

From sunrise to sunset, we dedicate the entire day to prayer and dependence on the Lord. This fast is a powerful reminder that our strength, hope, and provision come from Him alone.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
